The MBA CCC organized a Case Cracking Workshop along with a Meet & Greet session where the students learned about the opportunities that the Case Competition Program has to offer: Strategies in Action elective (MBA 659), the Live Case Experience (MANA 690) and the MBA Case Competition Committee (MBA 656).

About 40 students attended the event. During the workshop, the students were given a case to read and were guided on the process of solving the case. The students were teamed up and asked to discuss the various aspects of the case like key issues while Prof. Tim was taking them through the case step by step. The highlight of the workshop was the active participation of the students. This was a great opportunity for the students to gain some valuable insights into case-solving.

The MBA CCC organized the tryouts for the MBA 659 SIA & the MANA 690 Live Case classes. Around 60 students showed interest and participated in the tryouts.

Internal Case Competition – Fall 2022

ccc-homepage-1

In the Fall of 2022, MBA CCC organized an in-person Internal Case Competition in collaboration with the Concordia University Alumni Association (CUAA). The theme of the competition was Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

The MBACCC organized a coaching session to guide and streamline the thought processes of students. Prof. Tim lead the discussion and answered the queries that the students had on the case. The teams were taken through a sample case that helped them to understand the process of case-solving. The event was a success as all 9 teams participated and benefitted from it.

The day began with a briefing for the judges on the case led by Cedrin Law. The teams were divided into 3 panels and one team from each panel was advanced to the final.

The teams were allotted 20 minutes for presentation followed by a 10-minute Q & A by the judges. The judges provided valuable feedback to all the teams after each presentation. The finalists presented for 20 minutes in front of all the judges followed by a 15-minute Q & A.

After all the presentations, the event was shifted to the Winston Churchill Pub at Crescent Street. The winners were announced, followed by a networking cocktail where the participants got a chance to interact with their peers, the judges, and the CUAA board members who were part of the panel of judges for the day.

The work that the teams put into their presentations was very impressive which made it very difficult to choose the finalist in our group and then choose the winning team overall. The event was very well organized by JMSB. It was a great experience.” – David Kierans, Director, Concordia University Alumni Association

The MBACCC kick-started the year of learning with a bootcamp. The bootcamp was organized virtually in the last week of September. The event was focused on providing an opportunity for the students to work on a case and present it along with the guidance of a coach. Prof. Tim lead a case discussion and breakdown to provide a foundation. We had Jonathan Faerman, Cassandra Boivin-Pelletier, Matthew Beck, Jesse Prent, Jeremy Rutman, and Hirak Chakraborty join us as coaches. The event was a success and 20 students benefitted from the session.
